An alternative to leather is bookcloth,
which is used in most commercial work, and is also used in most
case-bindings. It
comes in a wide range of colours and textures. One
of Angela Sutton's suppliers is FJ Ratchford Ltd
Shepherds
Bookbinders Ltd supply
a wide range of papers, many of them tissues and other decorative
papers from Japan. These can be seen at their shop in Southampton
Row, London WC1, as well as general tools and equipment.
Russells
Fine Leathers supply leather and general bookbinding supplies,
and will send a catalogue on request.
Harmatan
and Oakridge Leathers are suppliers of leather,
some in striking colours and patterns.

by Victoria Hall.
Victoria Hall is a paper marbler who works in Norwich. She creates marbled
paper in period styles which are very suitable for rebinding
old books. She also makes paste papers, another period method
of paper decoration.
